Effective Guidelines for Natural Conception

Not every woman is blessed with the gift to conceive. Medical complications that make conceiving difficult or impossible could arise from any partner. After experiencing repeated failure using products and procedures at the doctors or fertility specialists, many couples have still opted to give recommended natural techniques a try. Oh, and by the way, there are a tremendous amount of success stories of couples who have faced repeated failure at the hands of the doctors and fertility specialists conceiving with natural techniques.

Try to avoid getting caught up in the hype of all these get pregnant quick fertility products. Because there could never be anything better than natural, following natural processes and procedures could get you the family of your dream sooner than you may imagine.

The following guidelines have the potential to kick start your conception:

1. A smile a day keeps the doctors away. There are those who believe that the mind plays a major role in conception. A conscious effort should be made to keep stress inducing factors and negativity at bay, while embracing positivism. Conception is far easier in a positive frame of mind. Anyone trying to conceive must ensure that a positive happy attitude is maintained, while steadfastly keeping negativity of all kinds at bay. The possibility to conceive decreases dramatically when stress increases. Allowing nature to have its natural course of action while staying focused, determined, and maintaining a healthy body and mind is a potent cocktail for pregnancy.

2. Free up your body and mind. Considering the fact that stress is a silent predator of us all and has the potential to destroy our body's natural performance level, it is not hard to justify any moment of rejuvenation of your body and mind. A warm aromatherapy bath or massage remains an effective and efficient timeless natural wonder. Every human body and mind relishes in the effects of these activity.

3. You are as healthy as the foods you eat. Life-giving food sources like green leafy vegetables provide essential folic acid and vitamins vital for any potential mother and baby. Conception requires essential proteins and iron found in lean meats and beans. This is due mainly to the fact the low iron levels are attributed to low ovulation productions. Hence, the more iron that is consumed the higher the potential to successfully ovulate.

The greatest advantage of following these effective and efficient natural techniques is the fact that there is no risk involved to you. These conscious efforts to get back to nature and get your body on a healthy path to conception might do the trick sooner than you think.

Importance of Healthy Eating and Weight Loss

Losing weight is not an easy task. Though it may be about one thing, calories in versus calories out, it can be hard for most to achieve. There are two important things that one must do in order to lose weight and keep it off;

Eat Healthy, and

Exercise.

When I am approached about losing weight most people do not know what to eat. They may have the exercise part down, but they still can not lose weight. The reason being their diet. If you do not eat the right amount of foods and calories per day according to your activity level you may actually gain weight or not lose weight at all.

Healthy eating is the most important steps when it comes to losing weight. A healthy diet plan should be comprised of the right amount of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Though many have been wrongly informed a healthy diet doesn't mean getting rid of everything bad including the things you love, a healthy diet just means making sure you consume more of the good foods than the bad ones.

The second important thing needed to lose weight is a great fitness plan. You must exercise and eat right to lose weight, because eating healthy is not good enough by itself. Since you must burn a certain amount of calories a day to lose weight, exercise a lone will not let you achieve this. However, exercise is important to your weight loss.

Exercise not only helps you to lose and maintain weight it gives you other benefits as well.

Exercise can change your mood and relieve stress.

Exercise can prevent diseases.

Exercise can boost your energy.

Exercise can help you to sleep better.

Exercise can be fun!

So if you are trying to lose weight I encourage you to first get educated. Find out what foods are needed to maintain healthy eating and find out how much exercise you should do by finding a workout plan. Get motivated, Get inspired, and Get Going! A healthy body is well worth the achievement and you owe it to yourself to get the best out of life.

Losing Weight - Are Diet Plans Worth It?

Diet plans that send pre-made meals right to your door have become very popular in recent years. The first plans weren't too appealing since the meals were delivered in a freeze dried state and left something to be desired as far as taste and consistency were concerned. Today, all that has changed and you can have fresh or frozen meals delivered to your home that actually taste pretty good.

When you look into it, you'll find many companies offering diet plans. Some of them are well known names in the diet industry and others are new comers or local operations. Because there are so many, you'll also find a variety of price points and features.

You may be wondering if a diet plan is worth it and if it really can help you lose weight. There are definitely some advantages to having your meals pre-made for you. For one thing, it takes away a lot of temptations you would have to face when preparing your meals. You don't have to worry about sneaking bites of food as you cook or eating portion sizes that are too big.

These meals arrive as single servings so you eat just the right amount to stay in your calorie count. All you have to do is warm the meal in the microwave and enjoy. Along with removing temptation, diet plans also remove the difficulty associated with meal planning and shopping when you go on a diet. Forget all the complicated stuff. Just order the meals that appeal to you and they will arrive at your door. If you don't want to pick and choose your meals you can even let the company choose the meals for you so you have a balanced diet.

Not all companies operate in the same way. Some let you order meals ala carte so you can select your favorites and as many or as few as you like. Others require you to order a week's worth or more at a time and offer the convenience of auto shipping. Some meals are freshly prepared and sent out chilled while others are shipped frozen. Some may still even come freeze dried.

There are many choices and the good news is the meals are not all that expensive especially when you consider you will be eliminating your regular grocery bill. You may still want to buy salad fixings at your convenience but the main entrees and side dishes will be prepared and portioned for you.

Dieting has never been easier. You can eat your meals at home or take them to the office and heat them up. Using a diet plan takes a lot of stress and confusion out of planning a diet and sticking to it. However, you'll still need to abide by the regulations of the diet you choose. If the company ships two week's worth of food in advance, you don't want to eat it all in a couple of days.

You would probably be surprised at the choices available when it comes to the foods you can get. Some of the companies hire gourmet chefs and strive to make meals that not only help you lose weight but taste delicious at the same time. If you are looking to lose weight, buying pre-made meals might be a good choice for you as long as you also follow the golden rules of weight loss: restricting calories and getting plenty of exercise.

Heartburn and Acid Reflux Relief During Pregnancy!

Heartburn is a common condition for many, unfortunately, is even more common for women during pregnancy. The acidity is caused by stomach acid to escape and move into the esophagus. It can create pain, pressure and burn the women during pregnancy and naturally women would like a natural and effective solution that will not affect your growing baby.

There are two reasons why the heartburn becomes a particular issue for pregnant women;

First, the growing baby restricts a woman's organs. The stomach, in particular, is pushed up and restricted. This physical pressure can force stomach acid into the esophagus causing pain and can damage the esophagus.

Secondly, during pregnancy, progesterone levels rise.Progesterone serves many beneficial functions to protect the growing fetus and the strengthening of the placenta. The disadvantage is the high level can also cause swelling and relax the esophageal sphincter allowing acid to escape the stomach. Progesterone also may slow the digestion process.

Resources are available over the counter, but pregnant women should really take the advice of your doctor before taking any of these remedies. A better approach might be to adopt some simple lifestyle changes.

The following steps should be helpful...

Try to eat smaller meals and eat 5-6 meals a day instead of the traditional three large meals. To distribute food in this way you are allowing your stomach to digest food more efficiently and are avoiding creating more pressure than necessary.

Try eating more slowly. Chewing food thoroughly is also compatible with your digestive system. One way to curb your power is to put your fork down between mouthfuls.

Avoid spicy foods and foods high in acidity.. Also note any food that seems to be a trigger for heartburn.

Foods high in fat, particularly animal fats, can be difficult to digest. Eat in moderation

Drink plenty of water, as it will help your digestive system. A glass of water will also provide very fast, unfortunately temporary, acid wash solution into the stomach.

Wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict the stomach.

Never go to bed with a full stomach. . Staying vertical will allow gravity to help keep the acid in the stomach.

You can use pillows to support the upper body to help you sleep.

Finally, if you have not stopped smoking to protect your growing baby , then here's another good reason to quit smoking as well make heartburn less common.

The good news is that the symptoms of acid reflux is likely to ease after the birth of your baby...

Using the methods I have described will also help control symptoms during pregnancy.

Head Sweating And Your Social Life

Three percent of people in the world suffer from head sweating. This is a staggering statistic. If one suffers from this medical condition one need not feel alone. The entire surface of the body is covered in millions of sweat glands that control the body temperature and allows the skin to perspire to cool down when hot. When this intricate system gets out of sink excessive head sweating of a primary or secondary form takes place.

Primary hyperhidrosis (head sweating), affects ninety-five percent of suffers and can be controlled to a certain degree by natural herbal homeopathic remedies. These medications have been known to help in the reducing and sometimes in certain cases completely stopping the sweating. These natural substances may also be able to treat the underlying causes of excessive sweating. With the wide variety of herbal solutions now available on the market one should always consult a reputable herbal consultant for optimum results, when seeking a remedy for this problem.

Secondary hyperhidrosis is endured by five percent of afflicted people. This small group may have excessive head sweating problems as a result of an underlying medical condition and it is advisable to consult a doctor.

It is an embarrassing dilemma that can often create severe psychological problems in a person's life. Wet hair and an itchy scalp, clammy face ruining makeup, forever feeling untidy and self-conscious about one's appearance all leave one insecure. Together with all these problems one still has the underlying fear of unpleasant odors resulting from the perspiration.

There are a number of helpful tips that can go a long way to helping lessen the chances of a head sweat. Loose clothing made from natural fibers, avoiding nylons and other synthetic materials will help one feel cooler. Keeping one's feet cool also allows the whole body to be cooler.

Hot, peppery foods and stimulants should be avoided at all costs. One should endeavor to use natural shampoos and not to wash one's hair too often. A well balanced nourishing diet is also recommended to prevent unnecessary sweating.

Emotional stress, anxiety levels and fits of rage can also bring one severe sweating. One is encouraged to find ways to bring these feelings under control and to work towards lessening these fits of emotion that increase the possibility of undue facial perspiration.

To cope with head sweating one needs to determine into which of the two categories, primary or secondary, one falls in to and then decide on how to deal with this unattractive disorder. Little is known of the exact cause except that the problem is focused around an overactive sympathetic nervous system that in some cases my benefit from natural homeopathic remedies.

Laser Vision Correction Faces Competition From Implantable And Orthok Corrective Contact Lenses

Laser vision correction has traditionally been regarded as the only way of achieving clear, natural daytime vision without the need for glasses or conventional contact lenses. Now alternative treatments are becoming widely available which offer a way of achieving the same outcome but without the need for laser surgery. For short-sighted people with a low to medium prescription, orthok corrective contact lenses which are worn only while sleeping then removed each morning enable wearers to enjoy the same daytime benefits as those who have had laser treatment but without surgery. Orthok is also fully reversible – if the wearer stops using the special corrective contact lenses then their eyesight quickly returns to the original prescription.

For long-sighted people and especially those who also suffer with astigmatism, one of the latest developments in vision correction is that of an implantable contact lens designed specifically for each patient. The operation takes about ten minutes, once the patient’s pupil is dilated. Working under a microscope, the special lens is folded up, injected into a 3mm incision where the cornea joins the white of the eye and unfurls in the space in front of the lens. The lens is then manoeuvred into position to complete the procedure and the tiny incision closes naturally. Recovery is usually fast and painless, so people can go to work and drive after only one day.

Whilst laser vision correction has become an established treatment in the UK with some 100,000 procedures typically completed every year, many people who are short-sighted or long-sighted choose not to undertake the treatment due to an apprehension that something may go wrong. This reflects the evidence from many surveys that of all the senses people value their sight the most. Hence the emergence of new alternative treatments such as implantable and orthok corrective contact lenses provides a way for people with such vision problems to be able to experience the freedom of natural daytime vision without requiring laser treatment.

Phases of the hCG Diet

The human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) diet contains three separate phases. These phases differ only slightly depending on which of the two HCG weight loss programs you are following. These two programs are Dr. Simeons’ “Pounds and Inches” program and Kevin Trudeau’s “The Weight Loss Cure” program. Phase 1 of Dr. Simeons’ program requires the individual to binge eat for two days prior to starting the hCG diet. The purpose of this two day binge is to add fat to the storage areas in the individual’s body so that the hCG can perform properly and also to help prevent hunger and headaches that are sometimes associated with the program. Typically, the individual is either given hCG drops or injections two days prior to starting the diet. The act of binge eating for those two days helps the hCG to enter the system. Two days after receiving the hCG, the individual will begin to follow a 500 calorie diet in Phase 2.

Phase 1 of Kevin Trudeau’s diet with hCG requires the individual to go through a thirty day period of cleansing before starting the two day binge eating period. The cleansing process is designed to remove impurities and toxins from the body. It is recommended that the individuals receiving cleansing treatments only eat organic foods to help promote the effects of the cleansing. Some cleansing processes included in Trudeau’s hCG program are colonics, heavy metal cleanses, candida cleanses, liver cleanses, and parasitic cleanses. There is a list of products that the individual should avoid during the entire process available within the article “The Weight Loss Cure.” Some individuals have experienced results when they have combined elements from both versions of the hCG dieting program.

For those who are following Dr. Simeons’ program, the second phase involves starting the actual diet with the use of liquid hCG. During this phase, individuals eat only those foods that have been approved for use in the hCG diet. A list of the approved foods can be found in the “Pounds and Inches” manuscript and also on various websites. This phase lasts between twenty-six to forty days depending on how much weight the individual has lost and how long the individual wants to diet. The individual will continue taking hCG for most of this phase. Three days prior to ending the 500 calorie diet, the individual will stop taking hCG. Trudeau’s Phase 2 is similar to Dr. Simeons’ Phase 1.

The third phase of Dr. Simeons’ hCG dieting program is intended to allow the hypothalamus to reset. Dieters go into a ‘maintenance’ phase where they can eat what they want while watching their weight. The goal is to stay within two pounds of their new weight. Phase 3 of Trudeau’s version is to actually start the hCG diet using the list of approved foods from Dr. Simeons’ manuscript. These foods should be organic and hormone free. This phase also requires the individual to use hCG dieting supplements.

Exercise for Stomach Fat

With all the fast food we eat, only the fortunate few avoid a flabby gut without doing some sort of exercise for stomach fat. Two of the simplest types are planks and crunches. Before you start on either, bear in mind that pregnant women shouldn’t do these exercises. Also, if you have back problems, doing crunches on a hard surface can aggravate those problems, so don’t do that. As always, warm up before and stretch afterward. Never stretch cold muscles.

Planks

For the ab plank, lie on the floor face down with your weight on your forearms and toes. Straighten your body, as rigid and straight as possible, from neck to ankles for a 30-second holds (use the old “one-Mississippi, two-Mississippi” method for counting the seconds). Do three sets of 20 (or however many you can do to begin with and work up to three sets). Thirty-second holds are a starting point. Gradually increase your hold time as you grow more accustomed to the exercise. If this becomes too easy, do the exercise with a stability ball under your feet. The more you do the more stomach fat you will burn.

Another intense exercise for stomach fat is the side plank, start in the basic plank position (weight on toes and elbows), and roll to one side, placing all your weight on one forearm and placing your upper foot on your lower foot (the weight is now on the side of your foot), and extend your free arm straight upward. Hold that for 30 seconds, and then reverse, holding that for 30 seconds. This exercise can also be done with straight arms, weight resting on the palm of the hand. That’s a little more challenging balance-wise, but like anything else, it gets easier with practice. Again, the goal is three sets of twenty.

Crunches

For a more old-school exercise for stomach fat, do some crunches. Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Position your feet as wide as your hips, hands behind your head, and tuck hands behind your ears. Use your stomach (not your hands) to lift your head, neck and shoulder blades off the floor. Don’t pull your head forward with your hands. Keep your chin off your chest. Hold that position until it starts to burn, and then count to five before lowering. Do three sets of however many you can do, and keep going until failure (i.e., until you can’t do anymore).

An oblique crunch adds rotating slightly with your shoulders, moving one of your elbows toward the opposite knee, while doing the crunches. To increase the intensity of your stomach fat exercise, add a stability ball to the mix.

Stomach fat exercise should be part of your daily routine. It not only makes you look better, but it also remedies back pain caused by extra weight imposing on weak muscles in your stomach and back. You don’t get as tired because you aren’t hauling around extra stomach fat. Working your abs helps your posture and eliminates stress. All in all, you couldn’t do yourself a bigger favor.

Unknown Facts about Saturated Fats and Its Importance to Tummy Fats Reduction

Nowadays, there have been numerous studies conducted regarding the effects of saturated fats to human health especially on the development and occurrence of heart disease. In the past until now, it has been a “Fact” that saturated fat is unhealthy and thus contributes to development and occurrence of heart disease. But actually this premise was wrong! This past finding was proven to wrong since saturated fat is actually a healthy neutral fat; there have been numbers of studies conducted with this and it has been proven that saturated fat is not correlated to heart disease as previously established. For this purpose, this article will give you a brief insight to saturated fats so with some proves as a healthy fat; this article will also focus on the role of saturated fats to tummy fats reduction.

There have been numerous studies conducted about the true health benefits of saturated fats emphasizing its advantages and disadvantages to health. Although there have been numerous broad intensive researches to saturated fat health identity, still it is one of the most controversial topic even this present day when it comes to its real effects and functional role to human health. There have been numerous claims in past that saturated fats are actually unhealthy to eat; such as a study conducted in the past which was published in a Men’s Health magazine in a six page article, were it state that saturated fat are actually good to your health and this past claims and researches were actually wrong. As evidence in this article, there were certain evidences and claims proving that saturated fat are bad to your health is actually wrong.

First point stated in that article; it is widely accepted nowadays by medical professionals such as doctors, nutritionist, dieticians, and fitness practitioners that saturated fats if actually bad for your health stating it as a “FACT” in fact was never been proven in the past. Actually never it was a fact, but a visionary hypothesis. This original flawed story goes back in 1950’s were a scientist named Ancel Keys published a research concluding that a dietary fat is a primal culprit for the occurrence of increasing heart disease worldwide. Actually there is nothing wrong with the study, but what made the study a major flaw is that the conclusion was based solely from small portions of countries were on few subjects were used for the data to be collected, in such a way it would not greatly support his assumption that fat consumption is generally a potent contributor to heart disease and eventually death by the general public in his time before.

Second point is; there were no other factors considered for the development of heart disease other than fat intake. Hence no considerations was made to factors such as stress, sugar, smoking, exercise, and many others which indeed as known today contributes to heart disease development. Although the finding of this study was a flaw, unfortunately it was generally accepted as a “Fact” (saturated fat is bad to your health) until today by some individuals; there were also numerous studies conducted were they looking into a link between saturated fat intake to heart disease, but unfortunately no correlations were established in such a way that some made interesting claims linking saturated fatty acids to heart disease. With this flawed past facts, saturated fat does not actually contributes to occurrence of tummy fats, in fact it actually help to reduce tummy fats.

Looking at these evidence, are there actually a real “Fact” proving that saturated fats are good to health and a contributor to tummy fats reduction? Yes indeed there was.

Considering these few examples:

There were actually some tribes in African continent specifically the Samburu, Fulani and Masai whose diet were solely consists high saturated fat content foods such as cows blood, raw whole milk, and huge quantities of red meat. Despite high saturated fat intake, they manifest absolutely low body fat level and heart disease is actually not prevalent in existent so with excessive tummy fats.

Other proves would be; there were certain studies conducted to a certain pacific island inhabitants, were they observed that these islanders consume high amount of saturated fat from natural sources such as coconut, palm, and cocoa. Astonishingly, despite their high fat intake, these islanders’ natives manifest small or no heart disease at all in their tribe. But those native islanders who had move into other land and adapted to western diets exhibited likely to develop heart disease, and this is actually happening nowadays. This because, saturated fat intake would actually raise your increases your good cholesterol (HDL) against bad cholesterol (LDL).

Another factual proves is; saturated fats composed of healthy essential types of fatty acids which are palmitic, stearic, and lauric acid. Stearic acid is abundant in cocoa and some animal fats (lard), there were some research present researches about this fatty acid in which all concluded that it has no negative impacts on heart disease risk, it neither act as neutral or beneficial; and it actually aids to reduce tummy fats. The fact is liver digest stearic acid into monounsaturated fatty acid called oleic acid which is a type of healthy fat and is found in olive oil. Another is lauric acid, this type increases the high density lipoproteins levels significantly, so with serving as a potential immune booster; recently it has been proven that lauric acid help improve immune function against HIV/AIDS. And lastly is palmitic acid, which is also a component of saturated fat and it has been proven that it raises good cholesterol against bad cholesterol, thereby favouring beneficial cholesterol dominance. Furthermore, these three essential fatty acids, actually hasten tummy fats reduction because it help the body to burn more fats faster.

These are some of the many prove that saturated fats is actually a healthy fats, but if you are curious about what are the real culprits for heart disease; these are the real culprits: trans fats, refined vegetables oils (such as cottonseed, corn, etc...), high carbohydrates diet, unhealthy lifestyles (smoking, lack of exercise, etc...), unhealthy diet, and many more. These are the potent cause of heart disease, and not the saturated fat as established earlier in the past. I hope this article has completely widened your understanding to the real identity of saturated fats as healthy neutral substance as well as its contribution to tummy fats reduction.

Cosmelan Reviews

An effective and very well known procedure to painlessly treat and assist the improvement of melasma, cholasma and other conditions, is Cosmelan. Cosmelan holds several advantages that will allow you to make a rapid decision on whether or not the procedure is right for you. It is described as a depigmentation agent, decreasing melanin from the skin. Melanin is the agent that darkens the skin. Cosmelan works to safely lighten the skin effectively and rapidly, on all skin types, with very minimal side effects. If you feel that your skin has been affected over the years, by age spots, acne scars or other types of blemishes, this procedure is a valid option to explore.

Cosmelan is available in packs of different creams, which allow you to use on your own after an initial treatment with your physician. After the skin has been evaluated, the skin is cleansed with aqua and an acetone containing product. Immediately following the skin cleansing, Cosmelan 1 is applied to the face. The mask will be left on for a total of 4-8 hours, depending on you skin type. The mask is then removed with water and a neutral cleanser after you have gone home. Continual use of the creams will then be used from home, applying about 2-3 times a day for the first two weeks, then once a day from that point on. Your physician will recommend daily use to see best results.

Although there might be minor side effects following the first treatment, your skin should feel nothing more than a little bit of redness and minor burning and itching. Skin blemishes should start to disappear within the first week after starting the treatment. However, the darker the skin, the longer it will take for the spots to disappear.

Cosmelan should not be combined with any other treatments, as it will not guarantee results. Other advantages are; effective in the treatment of melasma, rapid results, non invasive and painless, can be applied throughout the year, effective for individuals with acne scars and red skin blemishes, does not contain chemicals, and is very safe and effective.

The procedure is costly but much cheaper than if you were to pursue a surgical treatment.

In most cases, the disappearance of the blemishes improves by 95%. Results should start to surface just after on week of being treated with Cosmelan. Your skin color, tone and texture will begin to improve.

If somehow you miss a day for application, it is OK, but the product is most effective when used on a daily basis, and should be incorporated into your lifestyle in order to find the best results possible. Cosmelan can be applied year round, so there is no need to worry about any bad timing. Your skin should be able to absorb the changes and improve dramatically during the appropriate time frame of your choosing.

Cosmelan is a temporary solution and must be used regularly in order to avoid skin blemishes all together. When it is not being used, it is wise to use sun block to counter anymore unwanted blemishes.

Arthritis Neck Pain: A Quick Primer

There is nobody that likes pain, especially not any kind of pain in your neck. In spite of just how much we take it for granted sometimes, our neck is among the most important parts of our bodies. Any kind of ache or tension in the neck can almost be felt in the whole body, and sometimes it really does course through the various nerves that pass through the neck.

There are numerous reasons why people have neck pain, including injury, illness and general muscle strain. For the majority of of these reasons, the stiffness and pain usually disappears with some rest. On the other hand, if the source of the neck pain is arthritis, this can indicate a far more lasting pain that could bring about greater difficulties later on. Arthritis neck pain can not only be painful, but could lead to complications that could result in a loss of mobility in the entire body.

The most widespread form of arthritis neck pain is caused by a degradation of the cartilage between the bones of the neck. This may be a direct result injury which was improperly healed, or illness that caused the initial damage. While the cartilage deteriorates, it can result in contact between your bones, which can also come in contact with the nerves in the spine. This can lead to other complications.

Arthritis neck pain is often differentiated from other forms of neck pain firstly because of its chronic, repetitive nature. If the pain and stiffness is recurring, this might be a sign of arthritis neck pain. Apart from this, people that have arthritis in the neck might also experience additional symptoms like loss of balance, weakness or loss of feeling in the limbs of the body and also loss of bowel control as well.

People with these symptoms should speak with their physicians immediately for diagnosis and treatment, which could cover anything from prescribed medications for the pain, wearing neck braces, and maybe even surgery to replace damaged discs in the neck and spine. Treatment is very important, as further damage to the cartilage and bones of the spine could completely damage the nerves in the spine.

Apart from conventional treatments, several natural remedies for arthritis might also be used to deal with arthritis neck pain. Herbal remedies, natural supplements and even homeopathic remedies have seen use as effective painkillers, and some of these alternative methods may even halt or reverse the damage to the connective tissues. Oftentimes, these alternative methods might also be combined with conventional treatments; but make sure you consult with your doctor before doing so, to ensure that the treatments do not interact poorly with each other.

Ways to Tackle Snoring and Sleep Apnea

Both sleep apnea and snoring are closely related breathing disorders; the former being a more fatal complication than the latter. Though both stem from congestion in the air ways during sleep, snoring does not affect the quality of sleep whereas sleep apnea can not only be dangerous to one’s well being but it also affects our comfort levels during our sleep. Poor quality of sleep directly results in fatigue and sleepiness during the day. These symptoms are not evident when dealing with snoring but with sleep apnea we find them clearly present. Once these symptoms are detected or suspected, one must directly avail its medical treatment services.

Before resolving sleep apnea disorder one needs to know which type they suffer from. Sleep Apnea is of three kinds; Obstructive Sleep Apnea (caused by increased relaxation of the soft oral tissues), Central Sleep Apnea (caused by imbalanced respiratory controls of the mind) and Complex Sleep Apnea (which is a mixture of the two aforementioned types). Once the type of sleep apnea is identified, you can start working on its resolution.

Tackling sleep apnea and snoring can be done in a number of ways. Some lifestyle changes can be beneficial in producing favorable results. Availing the services of oral dental appliances also help solve either of the problems. CPAP alternatives to sleep apnea remedies can also prove to be a good resolution to these breathing disorders. Finally, if nothing else works or the situation is beyond critical, surgery is suggested.

The most popular of snoring remedies include incurring some lifestyle changes such as losing one’s weight, clearing one’s nasal passage with something like Neti pot or any other such decongestant, giving up smoking, establishing a regular sleeping pattern, moistening one’s bedroom air and/or repositioning one’s posture while sleeping as in elevating your head by four inches assists your tongue and jaw to move forward and avoid any congestion whatsoever.

The sleep apnea remedies present in the medical world today usually deal with OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea). Lifestyle change that help tackle sleep apnea are same as those used for snoring. Apart from such self help, one can also use mouthpieces or oral appliances. A dentist or an orthodontist can provide you with a pair of custom made mouthpiece that prevent your soft oral tissues from collapsing or constricting the air passage. But the gold standard treatment for moderate to severe OSA is the use of CPAP (Continuous Positive Airflow Pressure). The treatment helps you with your breathing problems by providing a constant flow of air while you sleep. Many patients have complained about the devices but everyday new advanced features are added to it and today the entire device is the size of a tissue box and much more lighter, quieter and portably comfortable. Surgery is the last resort when people are not able get any relief whatsoever by the aforementioned remedies. During such surgical procedures, the excess tissues in the mouth and the throat are stiffened or made to shrink.

Bottom line is, once detected, this fatal breathing disorder of sleep apnea should not be left untreated and the best way to start that is by availing the minor lifestyle changes and oral appliances. If the situation deteriorates, CPAP alternatives to simpler remedies become the best way to go.

Refractive Surgery For Vision Problems

The method of changing the optical measurements of the eye by means of an operation is called refractive surgery. Its popularity began with the introduction of radial keratotomy or RK in the 1980s. Russian doctors were able to correct mild degrees of nearsightedness or myopia by creating micro incisions in the outer part of the cornea.

The cornea is the transparent front part of the eye that accounts for two-thirds of the total focusing power of the eye. The small cuts made on the misshapen cornea flatten it to reduce short-sightedness. Since then, more up to date procedures have largely replaced radial keratotomy. Its use now is mostly to treat patients with astigmatism and have cataracts as well.

Basically, there are two basic types of corrective refractive surgery. One is by changing the curvature of the cornea through laser surgery and the other is by replacing the natural lens of the eye.

The more current refractive surgical procedure involves the use of modern eye lasers. This includes photorefractive keratotomy or PRK, laser in situ keratomileusis or LASIK, and laser in situ epithelial keratomileusis or LASEK.

All of the three procedures utilise lasers to permanently change the shape of the cornea. People with steeply curved corneas or those who have eyes that is longer than normal experience blurred vision and are said to be short-sighted or myopic. Other people are hyperopic or longsighted because their corneas are too flat or the eyeball is too short. Others have astigmatism, a condition that produces blurred images at all distances because the cornea is abnormally curved and causing vision to be out of focus.

In the recent years, radial keratotomy has been replaced excimer laser surgery because it can be used not only for short-sightedness but also for other refractive errors like long-sightedness and astigmatism.

Laser eye surgery is an outpatient procedure and both eyes can be treated on the same day unless the eye surgeon decides otherwise. Before the procedure, local anaesthetic drops are place in the eye to minimise discomfort that may be experienced by more sensitive patients. The advantage of refractive laser surgery is that the results are constant and predictable. Recovery is very rapid, no postoperative pain, and vision is noticeably improved almost immediately after surgery.

For those who have higher degrees of myopia or hyperopia, another refractive correction procedure involves removing the natural lens of the eye and placing a replacement lens with the correct focusing power. It is very much the same as cataract surgery, where the clouded lens is replaced by silicone or plastic lenses.

A small incision is made in the eye for artificial lens insertion. Recovery is about a week after surgery, compared to almost immediate improvement for laser surgery, particularly LASIK.

Refractive lens replacement is mostly suitable for older patients who are severely short-sighted or severely longsighted. This has been used since 1999 to treat people with severe myopia and hyperopia. For those who are approaching the cataract age group, which is around 45 years old, this procedure is often the best choice to correct blurred vision.

There are some advantages in having intraocular lens surgery over laser surgery. Those who are not suitable candidates for LASIK can opt for lens replacement. In patients with cataracts, the removal of the natural lens means that the cataract will not recur.

The drawback with conventional lens replacement is that these are mainly focused for distance vision. This means that patients cannot change focus from far to near and vice versa.

To compensate for this problem, newer artificial lenses that are able to accommodate or adjust to see multiple distances have been manufactured. Just like the normal eye, these lenses use the muscles in the eye to bend the lens in order to focus correctly.

There are also multifocal lenses that work much like bifocal glasses to allow patients to see different distances. Unlike accommodating lenses, multifocal lenses do not bend, but instead allow patients to see various distances through the different parts of the lens.

Both accommodating and multifocal lenses aim to improve focus of vision without having to use eyeglasses.

All of these methods of refractive surgery are intended to improve the quality of life, minimising or even doing away with the need for corrective eyewear. Whether the choice is laser surgery or refractive lens exchange, the outcome will depend on the expertise of the doctor as well as the eye care practices of each patient after surgery.

How Important is First Aid in Sports?

Having someone on hand with knowledge of first aid for sports and the right sports first aid kit is massively important whether the game is being played by young children or fully grown adults.

However, there is another thing which is equally important and often overlooked – preparation. Preparation involves two parts – training and warming up. Some players who have exceedingly great ability often feel they don’t need to train with others as they are innately gifted. However, this can be extremely detrimental as a huge part of training should not just be focused on improving skill, but improving the body’s ability to partake in the specific game.

Without working on the core muscles, movement and stamina needed for the game, injury is far more likely and the necessity for those trained in first aid for sports is hugely increased. Likewise, not warming up fully and totally will almost certainly lead to injuries eventually.

So if the players train and warm-up properly, does this negate the need for a sports first aid kit altogether? Not at all, accidents can still happen, and malicious opposition can also unfortunately not be counted out. The need for first aid is also not just about ensuring players can continue with the game, but it is also about ensuring that what is a very small issue does not turn into a major one. A slight pull can very easily become a major muscular problem if it is not treated in the right way and the right advice is not given on how to rest or exercise the muscle after the event.

In all, the right first aid provider being on hand can make the difference between a player being taken off and in turn the team dynamic totally changing and the game being lost and the game carrying on without issue. However, it also has much more long term significances for both the team and the individual and players could end up hurt much more long term, affecting the team for an extremely long time and causing many serious problems for the individual who has been injured.

What is Hypopnea

Hypopnea is a breathing disorder that can be characterized by recurring stops of respiration and/or a very low rate of breathing. The word hypopnea is comprised of two Greek roots – hypo and pnoe what literally means underbreathing.

There are two types of hypopnea – daytime and sleep. In case of daytime hypopnea, breathing is shallow while a person is awake. It usually occurs because of several neuromuscular diseases. Daytime hypopnea result in low oxygen level in blood. On the contrary, sleep hypopnea disturbs a person during sleep preventing him from breathing normally. As a result, he may not have enough rest at night even if he sleeps without breaks. Severe type of sleep hypopnea usually interrups normal stages of sleep causing patients to wake up from time to time.

In its origin hypopnea is divided into two types - central and obtrusive. In the first case it is characterized as a reduction in airflow proportional to the decrease in respiratory rate. It can be diagnosed only when a clear reduction in respiratory effort is observed. Obstructive hypopnea is diagnosed when the airway is partially closed and this closure causes some physiological effect like increase in breathing effort and oxygen desaturation.

Hypopnea is different from other types of respiratory disorders which include: apnea (complete cessation of breathing), oligopnea (weakening of respiratory movements accompanied with reduction of breath), bradypnea (slow breathing). It also should not be confused with several breathing patterns including dyspnea (intense breath with shortness), tachypnea (fast breathing), hyperpnea (increased amplitude of breathing at the normal rate), because hypopnea is not a breathing pattern but rather a disorder, an abnormal type of breathing when the airflow is hampered because of some pathology of the system of respiration.

Summing it up, hypopnea is an abnormal type of respiration that can be characterized as shallow breathing. There are several types of hypopnea: daytime and sleep, central and obtrusive. Hypopnea should not be confused with other breathing disorders and patterns.

Heart Attack and Chest Pain

HEART ATTACK: MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

No one wants to think about heart attack. It’s the boogey man that causes more deaths worldwide than any other medical condition. In the U.S. alone there are 1.2 million heart attacks every year: somewhere around 25% to 30% end in fatality. Around 20% of people die before they ever reach medical care. So why would we want to think about such a depressing subject? The answer is simple: the more you know, and act on what you know, the less likely you’ll fall victim to this condition. You can start right now on a program to reduce your chances of having a heart attack

We have known for many years that smoking causes heart disease and contributes to heart attacks. It seems that the constituents of cigarette smoke damage the intricate and very sensitive cells which line our blood vessels. These “endothelial” cells, of course, line the coronary arteries which deliver blood and oxygen to the individual heart muscle cells and electrical conduction cells. The smoke damages arteries all over the body, making the heart work harder to pump the blood to these other arteries. The harder pumping can lead to high blood pressure which in and of itself damages the heart. It’s like a cycle of one bad thing causing another then working its way around again to cause further bad effects.

We know that having too much of a certain fat substance called cholesterol damages the arteries and heart. It does this by depositing in all the body’s arteries like sludge in a pipe. As the cholesterol “sludge” increases, the diameter inside of the artery decreases (lumen). The artery becomes more brittle, rather than the gently pulsing and distributing mechanism which distributes the heart’s energy throughout the body. The really catastrophic event for the heart is when one of these cholesterol deposits ruptures causing bleeding and a clot to form in a coronary artery. This clot can very quickly block all flow through the artery and cause blood flow to cease in heart muscle supplied by the particular blood vessel. When heart cells are deprived of oxygen and blood they begin to die, and that is what we call a “heart attack”.

So what can we do about that cholesterol? Well, one thing is to investigate our family medical history. Did several members have early heart attacks or strokes or problems with circulation that may have caused an amputation? A big part of our measured cholesterol is simply due to heredity. Either we make too much or we don’t get rid of enough. A second thing we can do is actually have our cholesterol tested before age 21, and then rechecked on physical exams thereafter if there is a problem noted. We can put ourselves on a “heart smart” diet, avoiding excessive animal fat and consuming plenty of fibrin in our daily food intake. One recurring theme in proactive care of one’s heart is regular exercise. It helps elevated cholesterol. It strengthens the heart, and helps repair damage to the endothelial cells of our blood vessels.

Sometimes these self-care activities, though they help, may not be enough to get cholesterol down to healthy levels. What we’d like to see is total cholesterol below 180, LDL cholesterol (the “bad cholesterol”) below 100, and HDL (the “good cholesterol) above 40. There are a couple of ways to achieve this medically. One way is to prescribe a medicine which sequesters the cholesterol in the intestine by blocking its absorption. Another way is to give medicines which cause the body to make less cholesterol, mostly in the liver. The body makes its own cholesterol. This is either by the blood vessels or their food.HDL removes cholesterol from the blood vessels and brings it back to the liver to be destroyed Your doctor can look at your cholesterol pattern and prescribe the right medicine to achieve this goal.

So, how does this all come together in discussing heart attack? We’ve discussed how important smoking cessation is: you reduce your chance of heart attack by 50% in just one year of not smoking, if you were a smoker. We know that exercise reduces many factors in the evolution of a heart attack. We know that having ideal levels of cholesterol reduces your chance of heart attack. And we’ve mentioned that a heart attack occurs when a coronary artery is blocked and the cardiac cells fed by it begin to stress and die.

What is it like to have a heart attack? It may be the same symptoms for men and women, but women often have a different pattern of symptoms. One common complaint is squeezing pain under the breast bone. It may radiate to, or altogether be felt in, the shoulder, neck, jaw, or left arm. There can be shortness of breath or pronounced fatigue, which is particularly present in women. There can be delirium or dizziness because of decreased blood flow to the brain as a result of the heart attack. There can be nausea or pain in the vicinity of the stomach. It’s not uncommon to see a heart attack victim break out in a profuse sweat or have an ashen gray skin color skin appearance because of low blood pressure. When these symptoms occur in their extremes, the diagnosis of heart attack is fairly straight forward. However, when they are subtle or different, it can take complex medical testing and an extremely competent medical doctor to make the diagnosis.

So, what’s the take-home message? One part of it is being aware of where one dwells on the cardiac risk scale. The above-described symptoms in a middle or later-aged male, who is an obese smoker and never exercises certainly sends an alarm message. But other people obviously get heart attacks, too. So if you or another person suffers from the above symptoms, and there is no apparent reason why, “Hang up and call 911!!!” Getting a person on to early medical treatment is the most important factor in his or her survival and return to a satisfactory quality of life.

Take care of your heart. Never take it for granted. Do the daily maintenance you would do if it were a Rolls Royce parked in your garage, and more. Your heart is essentially your engine, and allows or limits everything you do or would like to do in every minute of your life.

Healing With Electromagnetism

Electromagnetic Healing

What is electromagnetic healing? Well, put simply, it’s a way of producing potentially profound shifts in health without laying on hands, exercising or taking any substances.

From the perspective of Taoism , the body is an electro-magnetic organism. A lot of very wise healers over the course of thousands of years have been aware of this, and in fact, the meridians we hear about from acupuncturists are a way of charting the electromagnetism that runs through our bodies.

This principle is already being used in conventional medicine: ECG and MRI machines use electrical and magnetic energy to diagnose and in some cases to assist in healing. And there are now electromagnetic products that you can use at home, either to help the body to heal, or to balance it and support optimal health. They contain magnets which work by raising the frequency of your cells and bringing them back into balance with their natural state of being. When this happens, your body’s ability to eliminate toxins increases and natural healing can take place.

The arrival of these products on the market couldn’t have come at a better time, since in the modern age we seem to be surrounded by pollutants. They’re in a lot of the substances we ingest, they’re in the air we breathe, and we’re surrounded by potentially harmful electro-magnetic energies from the computers, phones and other equipment that we use every day. So it’s more important than ever before to make sure we get our bodies back into balance by using an electromagnetic device like a mattress pad.

And it really couldn’t be easier. You don’t have to do anything or take anything – you simply lie on it, and while you sleep, the electromagnetic field it creates will raise the vibration of your cells and help your body restore itself to full health.

It really is that simple to introduce something into your life that can dramatically increase your well-being. It’s a natural way to eliminate undesirable influences on the body, there are no harmful side-effects and the benefits can be profoundly transforming. Wouldn’t you say that was worth a try?

New Approach For Staying Healthy and Vital

A growing number of patients look to their doctors to help them stay healthy and vital, not just to treat them when something goes wrong. Most are willing to pay privately for preventative treatments and supplements that are not covered by insurance. Each year billions of dollars are spent on Antioxidants, to combat free radical damage.

The damage associated with free radicals, called oxidative stress, has been recognized for years. It is implicated in all chronic diseases so it is not surprising that we have an endless supply of new antioxidant-rich products. But anti-oxidants have their limits; they neutralize free radicals to guard against damage but they don’t repair it. More recent science tells us that free radicals are not all bad. Certain free radicals called reactive oxygen species (ROS) emit a specific energy that is received by sensor proteins whose job it is to initiate oxidative response. This ROS-induced response is essential to all cellular activity because it is responsible for repairing free radical damage. Since the metabolism of oxygen continually creates free radicals (even without the help of toxins, stress and other factors) strong oxidative response is essential to ongoing health.

By leveraging this understanding, an entirely new approach to health and vitality is introduced with the NanoVi Pro™ device, manufactured by Eng3 Corporation. Excitation units inside NanoVi™ devices produce the same emissions as the final phase of the radicals, called ROS-specific signals. This mimics a biological process that triggers the body’s response to oxidative stress. By improving cellular activities, it is possible to address the oxidative stress damage that has already been done, while also protecting against new damage.

The patient inhales moist air from the NanoVi Pro™ device through a nasal cannula. For prevention, sessions are typically 20 minutes, two or three times a week. People addressing one or more chronic diseases often use the device more. There is no danger of overdoing it and no contraindications because this drug-free approach triggers your body’s natural processes rather than overriding them. NanoVi Pro™ devices are used to address a wide range of chronic diseases as well as for better mental and physical performance and for anti-aging. Sessions on the device are beneficial to any patient and an excellent way to support their desire to stay vital and healthy well into old age.

I Want My Handsome Man Back

Ever look at that adorable man you married and wish that he still had that handsome, manly face without the jowls, pouches and double chin?

Maybe you’ve introduced him to skin care items like eye treatments, bronzers and concealers and he is using them but you know that these specialty items aren’t enough to change the shape and contour of his jaw line.

Encouraging your significant other to become a regular at the gym is great advice to increase his cardio and muscle structure from the neck down but his face that is soft and spongy needs to be altered and lifted so he can look years younger.

Is surgery the answer? Probably not. Facial plastic surgery for men can be tricky because the scars are sometimes visible and of course, we’ve seen the celebrity men who have undergone procedures that haven’t turned out so well. Some of the results are truly horrifyingly permanent and these are people with a lot of money who can easily afford the excessive fees the top docs charge. Just because you pay top dollar for cosmetic procedures doesn’t mean that you will like the results you receive and you want your Honey to look like he did when he was younger.

Using scalpels and sutures to change a face is risky business. There are a lot of considerations to think about; of course, there is the financial consideration because facial plastic surgery isn’t cheap. A few little nips and tucks can easily cost more than $5,000 so make sure that sweet guy of yours understands that surgery doesn’t stop the aging process.

Choosing a qualified surgeon is another hurdle (they cannot guarantee the results); there are some very good surgeons out there but there are many who are not experienced or trained to perform these intricate procedures and they want your money. Buyer beware!

Surgery comes with severe considerations such as healing challenges, problems relating to anesthesia, infection, excessive bleeding and deep bruising, long-term paralysis, numbness surrounding the incision, the skin can discolor, and there can be necrosis and loss of hair. EWWW!

If your husband has health challenges such as high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, is overweight or has cholesterol challenges, these can cause complications and interfere with a successful surgery.

Injections that plump and paralyze might seem tempting for that man of yours but sometimes they can make your guy appear a little freakish. Those bunny lines that develop alongside the nose when paralyzing toxins are injected into the forehead can happen to men, too. Those paralyzed areas will continue to droop and sag plus wrinkles can develop in other areas of his face.

Creating a better looking face doesn’t have to be expensive, risky, painful or have an oops factor. In fact, when you introduce your guy to specialized facial exercises, the concerns of costly, dangerous procedures do not apply.

Faces look softened and droopy from lack of exercise making the wearer look less young and vibrant. Exercise tightens facial muscles just like exercise tightens and tones the torso, arms and legs. When your forehead muscles atrophy, your eyebrows drop and eyelids become lined. The same is true of your cheeks, jowls and neck.

Simple isometric, resistance exercises target and strengthen the underlying muscles of your face. If your guy has worked out with weights, he will understand this principle and when he uses exercise he will see how his face lifts, tones, contours and tightens.

Ohio entertainer, Brad Allen, has this to say regarding his experience with facial exercise, “I did facial exercise every day for 3 months. After approximately 2 months a friend, a portrait artist who really knows faces, noticed the difference. She noticed on her own that I looked younger. I said I was doing specialized facial exercises…My friend said I looked brighter, younger and refreshed. She observed a tightening where subtle sags had been starting. Even after cutting back to once a week I noticed that I maintained my new, younger look.”

Thumbs, finger and exercise gloves are all the equipment your man will need; before you know it, both you and your guy will see results after using the program just minutes a day. The program works for everyone and it’s a safer, faster and more effective way to get that handsome husband’s face on track. The process is easy and the results can be astonishing.

How Can You Help Memory Improvement With Health Supplements

As we age, the ability for recall as well as memory use tends to dwindle or to become less focused. We find it harder to remember names, words, places, or plans - significant things that we once found easy to bring to the surface. As a matter of fact, almost one out of every six people over the age of seventy report some or the other kind of minor problem with memory.

Approximately half of those individuals go on to develop even more severe cases of memory loss. Recent analyses have shown that a vitamin supplement which can help not only with problems of daily memory use, but to fight dementia as well as Alzheimers disease, is the use of certain B vitamins.

High levels of amino acid called homocysteine in the blood are related with the risk of developing Alzheimers disease. B6 and B12 vitamin supplements, and folic acid, have been found in order to help reduce the levels of this amino acid in the blood and thereby probably serve as a measure to prevent brain atrophy or the shrinking of the brain that is a cause of dementia. B12 is found only in meat, eggs and dairy products and even is essential for the creation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen in the bloodstream.

When tissue cells do not get enough amount of oxygen, we then say its a deficiency of B12 which can cause anaemia. When theres not enough oxygen in the brain, this could lead not only to dementia, but even mood disturbance and even possibly psychosis. Alternatively, excessive use of B12 has been known in some cases to cause damage to the nervous system.

While recent studies on the effectiveness of a B vitamin supplement indicates promise, one may want to use prudence and caution while going to buy vitamins on-line. There is no conclusive evidence which vitamin B slows the deterioration process of Alzheimers or actually improves memory. However, using it as an elderly person or vegetarian (B12 comes solely from animal products) might be a major factor in determining your overall health.

Other claims to memory improvement include the herbal supplement GinkoBiloba for blood circulation, memory and alertness; Hawthorn for oxygen and nutrient transport to the brain; Gotu Kola for retention as well as performance; Bacopin for concentration; Rosemary for memory enhancement as well as concentration; Schisandra for well-being and awareness and others. A balance of these herbal supplements might just not ultimately prevent dementia in aging, but might just work to slow it or avoid it's onset, as well as contributing to daily mental health as well as well-being.

Parkour Training - Master This Art Of Moving From Home!

Parkour, or free running, is actually loosely understood to be the skill of moving. Parkour entails using your body and objects within the environment to get around bodily hurdles. Essentially, the specialist of Parkour (a traceur), may run, leap, ascend or perform additional gymnastics type actions to get from one point to the other.

Parkour includes a specific focus on speed and effectiveness. Parkour coaching stresses practical power, fitness, stability and co-ordination. A traceur should be acutely conscious of their environment so they might quickly get around the route.

David Belle's Parkour

David Belle is the founding father of Parkour. Trained in gymnastics and fighting techniques, Belle highly supported building practical power. Belle started working with other people to train them ways to get from one point to the other and again using some crucial fundamental movements.

Belle stressed that Parkour wasn't for showing off however for being used in crucial scenarios. Parkour thus remains regarded as self-discipline as opposed to an activity.

Parkour Training

Practicing Parkour can be challenging because of insufficient publicly available hurdle courses. Usually a metropolitan environment offers lots of challenges where you can style your own hurdle program. Nevertheless, professionals should show respect for private and public property.

There are many fundamental actions which you can use to practice Parkour. Sound practice calls for hurdles that require stability, jumping, landing, swinging, moving, or even catapulting. You need to be certain to start with hurdles that aren't overly difficult. Attempting to hop over structures in your first practice program will be very hazardous. 3 Great Tips For Fast Weight Loss

Majority of the people have a desire to lose weight but they simply go in the wrong direction and that is why they are never able to fulfill this desire. However, there are few steps that you can take now in order to help yourself achieve this goal. Below are 3 proven tips that can really make the difference when it comes to losing weight and getting in ideal shape.

Take measures to boost your metabolism:

It is very important to not miss any meal of the day especially breakfast in order to promote weight loss. Breakfast is basically the most important meal of the whole day because it can jump start your metabolism.

You can also give a boost to your metabolism by eating more often. Eating 5 to 6 smaller meals a day might be hard in the beginning but one gets used to this kind of diet plan within a week or two. Always keep in mind that it does take some time to reduce appetite, so patience and determination will greatly help you reach your goals of getting in shape.

Eat More Fibers:

People who have a habit of eating natural foods like fruit, vegetables and whole grains can pretty much eat as much as they want without gaining any unnecessary weight. If a person switches from a diet full of processed foods, he or she will be able to eat much more and yet consume fewer calories which in turn make them lose weight.
Above mentioned foods are full of fibers and these fibers give us the satiety feeling sooner and keep our stomach filled for a longer period of time. Due to its greater fiber content, a single serving of whole grain bread can be more filling than two servings of white bread. Fiber also moves fat through our digestive system faster so that less of it is absorbed.

Exercise on regular basis:

Those who exercise on regular basis are very successful in losing weight and keeping it off as well. Exercising regularly burns extra calories and automatically creates calorie deficit which makes us lose weight without having to starve our self. It is very important to perform some type of vigorous physical activity on regular basis such as weight training, brisk walking, cycling or playing your favorite sport in order to keep yourself fit and active. Exercise also keeps our metabolism high which makes us burn even more calories.

9 Tips To Help You Gain Weight

There are a couple of reasons why most people fail in their attempt to gain more muscle mass:
A. Improper diet.
Most people are not eating enough protein and eating too many simple carbs.
They are not stressing their muscles during each workout. You don't have to kill yourself, but you must subject your body to out of the ordinary stress each workout to grow muscle.
B. They lack consistency.
They do not stay focused throughout the entire 12-week period. If they don't see results immediately, they get discouraged and quit. You have got to stick with your plan. No program will work for you if you are not consistent.
To get results, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes, and work as hard as necessary and you have to be consistent. Your body responds to consistency. Sometimes it may get to the point of obsession, but it has to be that way for you to reach your goal.
Here's some basic information and things you should be doing to help you bulk up:
1. To gain weight you must eat more calories than your body burns off, so EAT MORE!!!!!! The most important thing that I cannot over stress is that you need to eat to gain weight. You need to eat like you've never eaten before. (but not junk food like donuts and chips or candy).
Start eating six meals per day (space them out to about once every 3 hours).
2. Increase your protein intake and reduce your simple carbohydrate intake. Without protein your body cannot build new muscle
3. Keep your workouts under one hour. Short and intense!
4. Concentrate on free weight exercises that work the large muscle groups. The best weight training exercises for building mass are the simple ones. For mass, stick with compound free weight exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, barbell rows, pull ups and bar dips.
5. Use heavy weights and low reps, rest 3 minutes between each set.
6. Do only 2-3 exercises per body part.
7. Split your workout. Since you have a very high metabolism like me, you need to train with more intensity, but less frequently.
Day 1: Chest, shoulders and triceps
Day 2: Rest
Day 3: Back, and Bicep
Day 4: Rest
Day 5: Legs and abs
Day 6: Rest
Day 7: Rest
8. Increase you water intake. A good formula for this is to multiply your bodyweight by .66 to get the required number of ounces per day.
9. Use nutritional supplements. If you can't afford too many products, just stick with the basics; like whey protein. If you can't afford whey protein the next best thing is egg whites.

5 Ways To Stay Motivated

Do you remember the day you first joined your gym? Wasn't it a great feeling, knowing that you had finally taken that first step towards living a healthier life? Making a conscious, positive decision to improve is rewarding, and hopefully we've all kept that promise to ourselves. But try as we might, it seems that there's always a handy excuse to not exercise.
While gym attendance peaks around January, it slacks off every March/April as people forget about their New Year Resolutions. Summer BBQ's and vacations tend to make people stay away from the gym, and six months later holiday parties and planning to the same thing. Finally, we can all relate to those days when we simply don't want to work out!
The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association, a trade association serving the health and fitness club industry, reports that the average health club member in the United States spends only about 90 days at the gym per year.
Our goal at Pick Up The Pace (www.letspickupthepace.com) is to help you STAY MOTIVATED to exercise! We don't just want to help you with the 'how' of exercise – we want to help you with the 'why' too!
That's why we regularly bring new music into the gym, offer games and contests, provide fitness education materials, weigh and measure monthly, provide a fun environment, make it easy to get to the gym with expanded hours, and basically just do what we can to help you stay motivated. We want you to look forward to exercising!
So what can you do to stay motivated? Here are five great ideas to help us all keep that inner fire burning…..
1) Find an exercise buddy! When we know that someone else is going to meet us at the gym at a certain time, we will automatically be much more likely to show up ourselves. After all, who wants to abandon their friend? Don’t have a friend at the gym? Invite one along! She will appreciate the invitation, and will be much healthier for it!
2) Get to know people in the gym! One of the many reasons why women enjoy Pick Up The Pace so much is that it's part exercise facility and part social club! Visiting with friends and family while we're exercising makes the time go by so fast it hardly even seems like we're doing something good for us. It's great to get out of the house or office and just have some fun with other ladies!
3) Talk with your doctor! We all know that exercise is good for us. From helping to prevent cancer to lowering our blood pressure to helping us fit into that swimming suit, exercise is the best thing we can do for ourselves. Even with that knowledge, it's sometimes encouraging to hear about our progress from our doctor. Here's a hot motivation tip: ask your gym for a copy of your fitness records (monthly body fat analysis and measurements) and then share that information with your doctor. He or she will be so happy that you're exercising, and will encourage you to continue!
4) Chart your progress! The CEO of a Fortune 500 company once said "What gets measured gets done", and that advice is as good for us as it was for that business. Take the time to keep a food journal, an exercise log, or simply write down your fitness goals. Post it where you will see it every single day (on the 'fridge, in the car, on the mirror, etc.). Life is just so busy these days, a constant visual reminder of our goals may be just the motivational push we need.
5) Give yourself a reward! Sometimes the 'big picture' can be too intimidating. For example, if you have 80 pounds to lose it's tempting to think "It’s too much! I shouldn’t even try." That’s one of the biggest motivation-killers out there, so combat those discouraging thoughts by rewarding yourself for smaller accomplishments. Treat yourself to a manicure when you lose that first five pounds. Buy a new outfit when you've lost ten pounds. Take a mini-vacation when you're halfway to your goal. Give yourself small rewards for achieving smaller goals, and guess what.....many small steps make up a long journey! Before you know it, you'll have accomplished your overall goal!
There are many other ways to give yourself the motivation to succeed. Try some of these tips today – the only thing you have to lose is the fat!

Things to Know before You Buy a Vaporizer

Many people are purchasing vaporizers in an attempt to limit carcinogens and toxins associated with traditional smoking. For those not familiar with vaporizers here are some tips and pointers that will familiarize you with how vaporizers work.

The first question that people ask is, “Why try vaporizing in the first place?” The immediate benefit is that when you burn plant material you're actually burning a lot of the desirable ingredients as well. Studies show that you lose up to 40% of the key ingredients when using flame. On the other hand vaporizing is clean, green and retains a much higher percentage.

Another benefit is that, unlike burning, vaporizing can utilize less desirable material that is perhaps not as fresh. The vaporizing process will revitalize some tired plant material, again saving you money. You can "re-vaporize” any plant material you vaporized earlier.

One big reason that many people are vaporizing are the health benefits. By vaporizing, you are avoiding the carcinogens and toxins inherent in the burning process. Also, you're not getting the heavy odors with vaporizing that you do with burning. However, vaporizing is not completely odorless – some people compare it to the smell of burnt popcorn.

Now let's look at how the vaporization process actually works. Unlike burning which can happen at temperatures as high as 1200°, vaporization takes place around 350 to 400°. The material never reaches flame temperature but is heated enough to release the key ingredients from the plant material into a mist or vapor. The vapor is collected in a dome, bag, bubble or whip before it is drawn into the lungs.

The result is a very smooth intake without the intense overkill associated with burning plant material. Even better, your material lasts much longer and can be used as a food ingredient later.

Herbs are generally a light green color when first put into the vaporizer. Slowly they will turn to a light brown color, and over time when they are totally used up they will become dark brown.

Well, there are some very expensive vaporizers available for enthusiasts; most consumers will want a midrange model or a value model in order to get the most for their money. Top-of-the-line vaporizers cost upwards of $500. Midrange models fall in the $250-500 area while value priced entries come in anywhere from $50-250.

With this knowledge of the benefits of vaporization, how the process actually works, and some of the prices, you have a much better idea of what to expect.
